Rabbits are obsessed with eating larch. They will climb the rabbit guards to get to the tree. Only about 10 have survived the attack of the bunnies!
Yes, Twin Lakes via Arnica Lake is a decent larch hike! It's almost in Kootenay Park. (The trailhead starts on Highway 93 South but just before the Alberta/BC aka Banff/Kootenay border)
